Watch British Cops Chase A BMW i8 Filled With Cocaine

One of America's most beloved traditions is theclassic police chase. This intense game of cat and mouse brings in millions of views on YouTube every year, and it doesn't matter whether you're on the side of the cops or the crooks; it gets the heart racing nonetheless. Do you know what else gets the heart racing? Cocaine. In a video posted by the West Midlands Police in the UK, we get to see a guy leading British cops on a wild chase through the streets of greater Birmingham. The suspect is driving aBMW i8, which is, according to sources, packed with tons ofColumbian nose sugar.

The video starts with the BMW flying past a police car in the emergency lane of a highway. The police immediately gives chase. The car fakes pulling over before speeding on and eventually takes a highway exit onto suburban roads. The cops seem to struggle keeping up with the 369-horsepower hybrid sports car as it zooms through traffic, and one police officer can be overheard calmly reporting that the BMW is doing 90 mph in a 30 mph zone.

After a brief chase, the driver of the BMW i8, later identified as 34 year old Simon Pagett, decides to take a detour through what seems to be a public park.

As soon as the i8 enters the park, its scissor door pops open, and out comes Pagett's partner, holding a large bag in his hands. He bolts off while Pagett is still in the car. Pagett then makes his way out of the park and back onto public roads, but the chase is short lived: he eventually pulls over and hands himself over to the cops. You'd expect to see this kind of chase in Florida, but the UK clearly knows how to nail a police chase. The police later found 5 kilograms of cocaine worth about $700,000. Idiots.
