Chassis number CSX 2469 was purchased from Carroll Shelby by the current owner and includes a title in Shelby's name. This Daytona Coupe has seen extensive racing across the globe, including FIA-certified outings at Laguna Seca and Goodwood, and legends such as Derek Bell, Derek Hill, John Morton, and Phil Hill have been behind the wheel.

The Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe was first produced in Venice, California, but production soon moved to Carrozzeria Gransport in Modena, Italy, where Peter Brock kept a close eye on each build. Legend has it that the car took only 90 days to design. The Daytona Coupe was built specifically to take the fight to Italian rivals such as theFerrari 250 GTOand helped Shelby American become the first American manufacturer to win an FIA international Championship for the GT class in 1965.
