Not all heroes wear capes. Some drive Teslas.

Although Tesla often gets itself in the news for thestrange comments of its CEOor the failure of some of itssemi-autonomous driving systemsto work as expected, Tesla drivers make headlines as frequently as anybody. Over the past few years, we've seen many comical incidents where they have tried to fill up with gas, accelerated too hard and caused a crash, or become disoriented and driven into something they shouldn't have, like a ditch。Not all Tesla drivers are numbskulls though, andsome are even heroes。今天的特斯拉老板就是这样的一个个体,having saved his friend from would-be kidnappers by using his car as a battering ram.

The above video comes from Taiwan and depicts an incident that took place this past weekend, on Friday, October 8. It occurred in the Linkou District near Taipei. Chinese media outletUDNreports that the owner of aTesla Model 3finished in a satin black wrap got into a small accident with the occupants of a rented Toyota Yaris. Local police say that the driver of the Tesla and the four occupants of the Yaris got out of their respective cars to inspect the damage, which led to a bit of a road rage incident. The Tesla driver ended up being attacked by the other four individuals involved before these men tried to force him into their car. Luckily, another Tesla driver who happened to be a friend stumbled across the scene and took action.

Our hero realized what was happening and intentionally rammed the Yaris, which then tried to get away. The Model 3 driver was not giving up that easily though, and he prevented the assailants from making an escape by hitting the Toyota repeatedly. Both cars suffered heavy damage, but it seems that the attackers took off after their car was immobilized. Thanks to due diligence from the rental company that owns the Yaris, the identities of all were obtained, with these men since having been arrested for "disrupting order, disrupting freedom, and damage." We're just glad that the innocent parties are okay, and that we get to put a positive spin on a Tesla crash for once.
