2022 Jaguar F-Type Arrives With New 444-HP V8

Jaguar is preparing for its biggest transformation yet as the company is aiming to become anelectric-only carmaker by 2025. For now, though, Jaguar is keeping the V8 alive in its flagshipF-Typesports car. In fact, the F-Type is now available exclusively with a V8 powerplant. For 2022, Jaguar is dropping its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engines.

Whether you opt for RWD or AWD, the new F-Type P450 will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and max out at 177 mph. Like theF-Type R, the P450 comes with a standard Quiet Start mode for a less aggressive startup that will keep the neighbors happy.

As standard, the P450 rides on 20-inch wheels and features larger brakes measuring 14.9 inches at the front and 14.8 inches at the rear along with an active exhaust. Styling changes introduced in the2021 mid-cycle updatecarry over to the 2022 model year, including slimmer LED headlights with updated daytime running lights, a new front bumper, and an updated grille.

The F-Type P450 R-Dynamic AWD also gets some unique enhancements, including bespoke badging, a gloss black front splitter, side sills, and valance, heated door mirrors, and 20-inch split-spoke wheels finished in gloss Dark Grey with a contrasting Diamond Turned finish. The 2022 Jaguar F-Type P450 is available with 11 exterior colors and a dozen custom SVO paint finishes.

Inside, the interior is trimmed in Windsor Leather and satin-finish Noble Chrome. Monogram stitch patterns adorn the seats and door trims.

As standard, the RWD P450 is equipped with six-way electric power seats, while the AWD variant features 12-way electric memory front seats, an electrically adjustable steering wheel, an aluminum center console, and metal treadplates. A 12.3-inch display also comes as standard.

Topping the 2022 F-Type range is the flagship F-Type R, which packs a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 producing 575 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph takes just 3.5 seconds before the F-Type R tops out at 186 mph, while aluminum double-wishbone front and rear suspension and sharper steering should help to provide a more engaging driving experience.

With a starting price of $69,900 with RWD and $79,900 with AWD, the V8-powered Jaguar F-Type is more accessible than ever. The F-Type R, on the other hand, will set you back at least $103,200. All prices exclude the $1,150 destination charge.
