Subaru Protects Over 1 Million People With Starlink Technology

On the safety side, Subaru offers three connected services packages to provide customers a peace-of-mind experience.

Subaru says it has just enrolled its one-millionth subscriber into the Starlink connected services.

"We are proud to have achieved this milestone," said Ken Lin, Director, Connected Business, Subaru of America, Inc. "Our goal with Starlink Safety and Security is to keep our owners connected with their Subaru and prepared for the road ahead."

The Safety Plus package is the most affordable bundle of the three. It adds automatic collision notification, SOS emergency assistance, enhanced roadside assistance, maintenance notifications, a monthly vehicle health report, and diagnostic alerts as part of a three-year subscription.

Stepping up to the Safety Plus & Security Plus package includes more features, including remote engine start that works with the car's climate control and heated seats, stolen vehicle recovery service, vehicle security alarm notification, remote locking and unlocking, remote horn and lights, vehicle locator, and parenting features to let parents set boundaries, speed limits, and curfew notices for their children.

The Concierge package is the top service available. It adds many features often found in luxury cars such as a built-in assistant that can make restaurant and hotel reservations, purchase tickets for sporting or theater events, and schedule service appointments.

The2021 Subaru Crosstrek Hybridalso boasts some model-specific abilities, including remote climate control and a remote battery charging timer. Subaru borrowed the Crosstrek'shybrid system from Toyota, so it can run the climate control without starting the engine. Owners can also manage the battery's charging schedule and monitor its status to make full use of the 17-mile EV driving range. Subaru also gives Crosstrek Hybrid owners a free 10-year subscription to the Safety and Security Plus package.
