The Team Fordzilla P1 has had a few upgrades since it debuted last year.

Last year, Ford invited video game players from its Team Fordzilla eSports team to design a virtual race car. After nearly 250,000 gamersvoted on the design, the result was theTeam Fordzilla P1, a striking virtual race car that looked like a futuristic version of theFord GT.

Ford evenbrought the P1 to lifeas a full-scale model before turning it into the ultimate racing simulator for hardcore sim racers. Now, the Team Fordzilla P1 has been upgraded with new streaming capabilities that are being demonstrated at the Gamergy 21 event in Madrid, Spain, where it was shown wearing a new black gaming-inspired livery.

Designed for sim racing streamers, the upgraded Team Fordzilla P1 incorporates three high-resolution 4K cameras that focus on the pedals, steering wheel and face, as well as a massive screen. The P1 is powered by an HP Z4 workstation and players control their virtual race car with an integrated steering wheel and pedals.

For added immersion, players can also wear an HP Reverb G2 virtual reality headset. When the simulator is not in use, enhanced lighting at the front and rear mimics a sleeping person's breath. When in use, these same rear lights are synchronized with the player's braking to connect outside spectators to the action.

一个built-in audio system also creates a visceral experience for the player. The upgraded Team Fordzilla P1 streaming platform is being showcased by Ford Europe's Design Director Amko Leenarts and HP Spain CTO Melchor Sanz at Gamergy esports event and gaming festival in Madrid, Spain this month, allowing visitors to try Ford's new fancy racing simulator.

"The P1 racer is an incredible design project and as a racing simulator is a fantastic experience for the player. This latest development with HP means we can stream that excitement to more people and help them to see the future possibilities of sim racing," said Emmanuel Lubrani, senior manager of brand communications at Ford Europe.
