New Porsche 911 GTS Targa Spied Completely Undisguised

The2021 Porsche 911 Turboisn't the only 992-generation 911 Porsche was planning to reveal this year. We're still waiting forthe new Porsche 911 GTSto be unveiled, but the debut is likely delayed due to the global pandemic. To help ease the wait, our spy photographers have spotted the new Porsche 911 Targa GTS prancing around naked at the Nurburgring.

Porsche hasn't bothered to camouflage this prototype too much, but since we already know what the 992-generation Porsche 911 looks like, there wasn't much point in hiding the minor design changes that distinguish it from the regular model. The front bumper features some minor design changes and the exterior is finished in black trim.

这些center-locking轮子也很容易ifferentiate the GTS from the regular 911. At the back, the 911 Targa GTS prototype is fitted with a Sport Design bumper and a sport exhaust. This particular prototype also has a tinted rear window and stone chip guards mounted on the rear fenders. Elsewhere, the Carrera's red taillights are replaced with clear ones.

Like the previous model, the new GTS will slot in between the standard911 Targa 4and the upcoming GT3 replacement. As with the Carrera S, or in this case Targa 4S, the new 911 GTS will be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine paired to all-wheel-drive.

The previous 911 GTS produced 450 horsepower, but the new version should get a power increase to around 470-475 hp. While the lack of camouflage on this 911 Targa GTS prototype suggests a reveal is imminent, it's still a mystery when Porsche plans to unveil the new GTS.

One possibility is the 2020 LA Auto Show later this year in November since organizers have confirmed the show isstill going aheadunlike other major shows such as Geneva, Detroit, and New York that were canceled. However, the new Targa GTS will most likely be revealed after the coupe and convertible versions.
