Leaked: Ferrari's Next One-Off Masterpiece Has A Name

The recently unveiledFerrari 296 GTBrepresents the first-ever V6 hybrid Ferrari, but if you want something more exclusive, Ferrari's Special Projects division is working on a new one-off model that was no doubt commissioned by an extremely wealthy client. From theOmologatato the SP38, Ferrari's Special Projects division has created some spectacular one-off supercars over the years.

Over on the Ferrari Chat forum, a member has discovered an image of a badge revealing that Ferrari's next one-off project will be called the SP48 Unica. Details are scarce, but the bespoke supercar will reportedly be based on theF8 Tributo. This makes sense as the division's previous one-off creations were based on existing models.

Last year's Omologata was based on the 812 Superfast with a unique design inspired by classic Ferrari GT racers, while the track-only P80/C was based 488 GT3 race car. Ferrari's Special Projects division also designed a stunning bespoke 488 GTB called the SP38 with unique design touches inspired by the F40 such as a redesigned rear spoiler and horizontal slats over the engine cover.

The SP48 Unica will also likely feature some unique design cues that pay homage to a classic Ferrari model to set it apart from the F8 Tributo.

The bespoke supercar could also get a power bump, although the F8 Tributo is not lacking in the power department. For reference, the F8 Tributo is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 710 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque.

Coincidentally, an image leaked online a few months ago showing another one-off Ferrari in development completely undisguised. It will reportedly be called the F125 TDE. Despite reportedly being based on the F12 TDF, it looks unlike any other Ferrari currently in production, sporting awild designfeaturing a wraparound windshield, a split rear spoiler, and high-mounted dual exhaust tips. The one-off SP48 Unica, on the other hand, is expected to debut sometime in 2022 - let's hope the design leaks before then.
