Electrify America is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, which was created with the goal of offsetting emissions in the United States by installing vehicle chargers around the country. VW hasinvested over $2 billioninto the project and has alreadypartnered with Walmartto install over 120 fast chargers across the US.

This new network of fast chargers should come in handy when VW starts selling its I.D branded EVs in the US and other VW Group productions like thePorsche Taycan will benefitas well. Now the company is making EV ownership even easier by offering a new Level 2 home charger for EV owners that like to recharge their cars at home.

The Electrify America Electric Vehicle Home Charger is now available on Amazon for just $499 and is compatible with all EVs currently available in the North American market today. At under $500, the Electrify America charger is even more affordable thanKia's chargerofferings on Amazon and it will still work if you own aKia Niro EVorHyundai Kona EV.

It is capable of 7.6kW charging, which is about six times faster than the typical Level 1 charger provided with most EVs, though charging times will differ depending on the make and model. Owners will even be able to manage their at-home charging sessions via the mobile app.

The charger is now on sale with a three-year warranty and 24-hour customer support. It also includes a 24-foot long cable so you can charge in the garage or outside. Installation will be handled by a partner company called Qmerit, making it easy to start charging your EV at home.
