Special Editions /7 Comments

The latest Q by Aston Martin creation is something truly special.

Aston Martin is a pretty cool brand in its own right - just have a look at therecently leaked imagesof the new, hardcore Valkyrie if you're not convinced. But to some, an Aston Martin is something that is still too accessible and too ordinary. For people such as these, 'Q by Aston Martin' exists, offering bespoke specificationsthat will make your British sports car or SUV stand out, even on the lawns of Pebble Beach. The latest reveal from the division is more than just a lick of paint and a splash of fancy leather applied to the already-specialAston Martin Vantage Roadster- this one celebrates the oldest surviving Aston Martin sports car, one commonly known as 'A3'.

This year marks a century sincechassis No. 3旧的阿斯顿可以恰当地称为,滚the brand's production line. It was the third of five Aston Martin prototypes constructed before series production began and "was used extensively by co-founder of the business Lionel Martin." This kind of historic machine will likely never be sold by Aston (unless its financial troubles start over), but that doesn't mean that Aston hasn't found a way to part you and your money. Celebrating this piece of the marque's history is the Q by Aston Martin Vantage Roadster.

Calling to mind the A3, this special edition gets a unique grille with a bright aluminum surround and black square mesh. This mesh features Aston Martin's heritage badge, the same one used when the A3 was but a brand new test car.

Among the overtly retro features are unique side fenders with a saddle leather strap. This is quite special, as "the hand-polished panel has been painstakingly finished by Ecurie Bertelli, the leading specialist in pre-war Aston Martin models. Adding to this design is the engraved 'No 3' as a representation of the stamping seen on the original." Bronze brake calipers are another stand-out feature, and they definitely catch your attention behind lightweight forged Gloss Black wheels.

Naturally, no special edition is complete without interior work, so micro-perforated fluted seats are fitted along with an embroidered Aston Martin script on the rear cubby lid. It's the same script from 1921, of course. The cabin is based on the Obsidian Black interior specification and is further enhanced by Chestnut Tan leather accents and contrast stitching, but the bespoke brass rotaries are arguably the best piece of this stunning puzzle. Finally, the center console is embossed with a period-correct heritage Aston Martin logo.

There's no word on price, but with orders open for just three examples, expect to spend big.
