2023 XC60 Interior

The interior of the Volvo XC60 is extremely elegant, yet it doesn't try to rub your face in it. The styling is understated in a pleasant way, relying on the upscale materials and high-quality build to speak for themselves. As such, you will struggle to find any unwelcome hard plastics, nor a knob or button out of place on the dashboard. Everything is laid out with meticulous thought going into what would be most comfortable for the driver and passengers. Speaking of which, there is more than enough space around the cabin for everyone, and a standard-fit sunroof ensures an open and airy feeling. Even the second row has plenty of room to spare, and it can be folded down to expand the trunk. The addition of a power liftgate makes accessing this area a lot easier, too, and it can be activated remotely via the key fob.

Seating and Interior Space

There is seating for up to five passengers inside the XC60, but more importantly, there is actually room for five. Of course, you'd still rather seat the kids in the back, despite an ample 38 inches of head- and legroom. It would be tight for three adults across in the back, but that's not so much an XC60 problem as it is a characteristic of the segment. Two adults would be perfectly comfortable. The front seats are even more accommodating, sharing the same 38 inches of headroom but boasting 41.5 inches of legroom for the driver and passenger to stretch out. Both front seats are power-adjustable, making it easy to find a comfortable driving position, and the electric steering column makes it even easier. Visibility is always good, despite large pillars, and getting in and out is never a problem.

Interior Colors and Materials

Volvo has gone out of its way to build an excellent cabin, with only the best materials used in every area inside the XC60. The base trim comes with Charcoal cloth with a Charcoal interior theme; however, this can be replaced with leatherette in the same color scheme or Blond leatherette with a Blond/Black interior color scheme at no extra cost. The default interior trim is Iron Ore on this model. The Plus trim gets leather upholstery in any of three color schemes, with the leather and some of the interior in either Charcoal, Maroon Brown, or Blond, and the rest of the interior in Charcoal.

The Ultimate upgrades to perforated Nappa leather upholstery and the available color schemes are Charcoal/Charcoal, Amber/Charcoal, Maroon Brown/Charcoal (all with Linear Lime decor), or Blond/Charcoal with Driftwood decor. However, you can opt for a combination of Nappa leather, leatherette, and textile instead on the Ultimate. This is only available in Charcoal/Charcoal with Metal Mesh decor and in conjunction with the Dark Theme exterior on the mild-hybrid Ultimate, and it's the only color scheme and materials available on the Polestar Engineered T8. The Ultimate and Polestar Engineered also get an Orrefors crystal gear shifter, while the Polestar Engineered is the only trim that shows off with gold seatbelts.

2023 XC60 Trunk and Cargo Space

Even luxury SUVs present buyers with better practicality than a sedan or coupe, but the Volvo XC60's cargo space is average for the segment. It supplies just 22.4 cubic feet behind the rear seats, which is enough for your daily errands, but a lot less than you'd find in cheaper economy brands like Hyundai or Toyota. If you do want to compete with these Tetris champions, you can fold the rear seats down to open up a 63.3 cu-ft area. On the plus side, the PHEV trims are just as capacious as their gas-fed siblings. A power-operated tailgate that can be opened from the key fob makes it easy to access the space.

客舱存储更符合产业norms, with a smattering of small bins around the console for loose items and door pockets that can accommodate larger stuff like water bottles. Though a bit shallow, the armrest cubby is quite spacious, but there is also a glove compartment if nothing else is big enough. There are also cupholders in the front console and more in the rear fold-down armrest.

2023 XC60 Infotainment and Features

Features

Considering how much they cost, it only makes sense that premium SUVs come outfitted with a boatload of features as standard. In the case of the Volvo XC60, this includes seats that are 12-way power-adjustable up front, driver-seat memory, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and a configurable 12-inch digital gauge cluster. There is also a power panoramic sunroof and a power liftgate with key-fob activation.

In terms of driver-assistance tech, you get forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and rear parking sensors. Upper trims upgrade the climate control to a quad-zone system and add heated and ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera, and a head-up display. Optional features include heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. The top-of-the-range Ultimate and Polestar Engineered get a standard graphical head-up display.

Infotainment

Last year, Volvo replaced the operating system in its infotainment with a Google Automotive system with Google built in, including Google Maps navigation, Google Assistant, and Google Play, with a complimentary four-year subscription to these services. The nine-inch touchscreen didn't change. It has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, Bluetooth streaming, SiriusXM, and a ten-speaker sound system. The Ultimate upgrades this to a 14-speaker Harmon Kardon setup (optional on the Plus), while the Polestar Engineered gets a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround-sound system (optional on the Ultimate).
