The Mercedes-AMG E53 coupe is powered by a turbocharged inline-six with EQ Boost. It has a small electric motor housed between the engine and the gearbox, and it provides an additional 21 hp and 184 lb-ft to fill in the gaps in the powerband. The total system output is rated at 429 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque, sent to an AMG-enhanced 4MATIC+ AWD system via AMG's nine-speed Speedshift automatic.
It comes standard with dual-zone climate control, a 64-color ambient lighting system, heated front seats, brushed stainless steel pedals, and an AMG steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch touchscreen display are standard. The 2022 model comes with Merc's new MBUX interface, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, online navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, HD Radio, SiriusXM, and USB ports for both the front and back seats. A 13-speaker Burmester sound system is standard. Standard driver assistance features include front collision detection with auto emergency braking, blind-spot assist, active parking assist, a surround-view camera system, rain-sensing wipers, auto high beams, and tire-pressure monitoring.
