The exterior of the Ford GT is all drama, its curves designed with purpose to work in unison with the trick aero elements, which include adaptive suspension to vary the ride height and an active rear spoiler/air brake. Those front air tunnels behind the bumper emerging from the hood are not just classic GT features, but fully functional, as are the dramatic flying buttresses. The 20-inch alloy wheels can be upgraded to carbon-fiber wheels. The active rear spoiler and the LED headlights and taillight are all standard features.
The '64 Prototype Heritage Edition is only available in Wimbledon White with Antimatter Blue for the 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels, the over-the-body striping, and the body graphics, while its side sills, front splitter, engine louvers, rear diffuser, and mirror stalks are all rendered in exposed carbon fiber. The tinted carbon fiber of the LM's lower body and the detailing on the center barrels of its 20-inch carbon wheels can be had in either red or blue, and this livery recalls that used on the 2016 Le Mans-winning GT. This trim is only available in Liquid Silver paintwork.
The Ford GT's dimensions are typical of a long, wide, and flat supercar. In terms of overall size, it casts quite a large shadow; for comparison's sake, its length of 187.5 inches makes it nearly ten inches longer than a Porsche 911. Its body width without mirrors is 78.9 inches, 88.1 inches with the mirrors extended, and 83.2 inches with them folded. Its wheelbase is 106.7 inches, and its height a mere 43.7 inches - not much higher than the 40 inches from where the original GT40 got its name.
Curb weight comes in at 3,354 pounds, and its dry weight is 3,054 lbs. In its lowest suspension setting meant for the track, it skims the road surface with a ground clearance of only 2.75 inches, which increases to 4.7 inches at the normal ride height.

The '64 Prototype Heritage Edition comes in the trim-exclusive Wimbledon White with Antimatter Blue for its triple over-the-roof body stripe, graphics, and 20-inch carbon wheels. The 20 LMs recall the 2016 Le Mans-winning GT's livery and are all painted in a trim-exclusive Liquid Silver, with either red or blue for its tinted lower-body carbon fiber, and for the center-barrel detailing on its 20-inch carbon wheels.
To save weight and keep the center of gravity low, no sunroof of any kind is offered on the GT.
The GT has dual tailpipes mounted high up in the center of car.
The GT comes with 20-inch alloy wheels. 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels are optional on the regular GT and standard on the '64 Prototype Heritage Edition and LM.
