The Value Of Jerry Seinfeld's Car Collection Is Staggering

Movies & TV /22 Comments

Spoiler alert: it's an eight-figure sum.

By now, most will know that famous comedian Jerry Seinfeld has a thing for cars. We've already featured hishuge Porsche collection, plus we got to see him buy a $1.2 million911 Classic Club Coupeat the brand's 75th-anniversary auction. But the question is: How much is his entire car collection worth?

YouTube channel VINwiki tapped John Ficarra of Ficarra Classic & Car Historian to find the answer, which is probably the closest we'll get to a real figure. We say closest because we're sure there's room for error. While Jerry is a massive gearhead, he's not exactly bragging about every purchase on his social media - he's classier than that. That said, the channel's researcher managed to find a list list about 48 vehicles confirmed to be sitting inside the celebrity's garage.

Going through all 48 will take a bit, but VINwiki narrowed it down to the most interesting ones. The most expensive is the race-spec 1969 Porsche 917K in Gulf livery. Bolian and Ficarra guestimate its worth at a whopping $25 million. This is the same carused in the filming of the 1971 film Le Mans, starring Steve McQueen.

Seinfeld also owns a 1973 911 Carerra RSR and a 1985 935. These race cars are worth $3.5 million and $5 million, respectively. The 935 is particularly iconic as it dominated numerous 1970s-era motorsports events like the IMSA GT Championship, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and many other endurance racing events.

Other Porsches in the comedian's stable include one of the first three hand-built 1955 550 prototypes worth around $7.5 million, a 1966 Porsche 356C SC Cabriolet worth $400,000, and a 1973 911 Carerra RSR worth $2.5 million, a 1993 964 Carrera RSR 3.8 worth $1.5 million, a 1998 959 Sport worth $3 million. Interestingly, he also owns a 1962 VW Type 2 Pickup, which is whiplash-inducing considering Seinfeld's other whips.

Not mentioned was Seinfeld's 993 Speedster, which isone of only two in the world. It's clear that he has an affinity for the Porsche brand, but was also amongst the first owners of the new Acura NSX (which has since been sold).

Now, for the answer you're all waiting for. Bolian estimates Seinfeld's collection costs a total of $85,200,000. Ficarra meanwhile, estimates that it hovers higher at $87,500,000. This figure includes the full 48 cars mentioned at the outset, but only those 48, so as we said, is the best guess rather than being a definitive answer.

The full list of 48 is available as a link in the video's description, and it includes dozens of other examples of thePorsche 911and a bunch of Volkswagens.

Regardless of that whopping grand total, Seinfeld's stable might just be the largest collection of Porsches on the planet. It might not be as large as Ralph Lauren'sinsane car collection,但嘿,这是值得注意的。
