VW Announces 2024 Lineup As 'The Freshest In Years'

Pricing /1 Comment

New technology is being added across the board.

Volkswagen has announced 2024 updates for its entire lineup, and technology is the name of the game. Calling it "the freshest Volkswagen lineup in years," the big change going forward is that every VW vehicle sold with an automatic transmission will now come standard with IQ.Drive - the brand's hands-on semi-autonomous driving suite, and every new vehicle will come with VW Car-Net Safe & Secure safety suite at no additional cost for five years.

These two systems comprise just about every safety and assistance feature one could want, from collision detection, automatic braking, lane-keeping assist, automatic crash notification, emergency assistance, and much more. Making this standard on new vehicles automatically makes VWs a more compelling option. If you like three pedals in your vehicle, no need to fret; manual models also get every one of these features besides Emergency Assist.

Starting with the crossovers, theAtlasfamily is seeing the largest updates for 2024, seeing as this is the first year of its refresh. This means whether you're opting for the regularAtlas or the Atlas Cross Sport, you now get a more attractive vehicle that's powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Gone is the venerated VR6, but we all know all good things must eventually come to an end.

VW wanted these SUVs to feel a bit more upscale, and this means a leatherette-trimmed dashboard and center console, ambient lighting, and quilted leather seats with diamond stitching are all available depending on the trim you pick. There are more standard features, too, such as a heated steering wheel with shift paddles, ventilated front seats, a height-adjustable passenger seat, automatic climate control, and voice control.

There are five or six trims to choose from depending on which model you get, with the big addition being the Peak Edition for thosewanting a more rugged look. Pricing starts at $37,725 for the Atlas and $36,715 for the Atlas Cross Sport.

The Tiguan is probably the longest-in-the-tooth model VW currently sells, but a replacement isdue to come in 2025with plenty of changes, so if you can wait, that's probably a smart move. The Tiguan starts at $28,505 for 2024.

TheTaoswill come in three trims for 2024: S, SE, and SEL. Starting at $23,995, the S trim receives light assist, rain-sensing wipers, and a heated leatherette steering wheel. SE models then get dual-zone auto climate control and an optional black package coming later in the year that will offer a black roof, wheels, and trim. All three trims now feature different interior stitching as well.

Yes, theArteonis still around, but it won't be for much longer, as it'sbowing out in 2024. Thanks to this, all it receives are some slight visual changes which are fine by us because we've always thought this thing looked great. Starting at $47,875, it doesn't come cheap, but you do get an attractive and capable four-door cruiser with AWD and 300 hp. These are the cars people will be moaning about not existing in a year or two, so put your money where your mouth is and buy them while you still can.
