BMW 4 Series Convertible Tries On A Sporty New Suit

When it comes to styling, the newBMW 4 Seriesis one of the most controversial new cars on the block thanks to its gigantic grille. Visually, AC Schnitzer's take on the 4 Series Convertible is fitted with new aerodynamic components including a front splitter that increases downforce at the front axle by 35 kg at 200 mph.

New front spoiler elements and side skirts also help make the 4 Series Convertible look more athletic. These enhancements are subtle, but they help divert attention away from the distracting grille. The modified 4 Series Convertible also sits on 20-inch AC4 Flow Forming wheels wrapped in 235/35 R 20 tires at the front and 265/30 R 20 on the rear axle. Alternatively, AC1 alloy wheels in BiColor or Anthracite are available in 19-inch or 20-inch sizes. A sports suspension system also lowers the car by 0.5-0.9 inches.

As standard, the M440i produces 382 hp, but AC Schnitzer's performance upgrades increase the output to 420 hp, closing the performance gap between the M440i and the base-model M4. The tuner can also crank up the 420i, which is not sold in the US, to 224 hp. It sounds more aggressive too thanks to a stainless-steel exhaust system with tailpipes trimmed in carbon, chrome, or black.

Inside, the interior is upgraded with aluminium accessories including new paddle shifters, pedals, an iDrive controller cover, and a key holder.
