2023 M8 Gran Coupe Interior

The interior of the BMW M8 Gran Coupe is fully in keeping with its price, and the quality of the construction and materials is beyond reproach. The cabin design is both elegant and easy to use, and the infotainment is on par with the most modern systems in the industry. The standard blacks are a bit somber, but extravagant colors can be specified, and the front seats can be switched out for true carbon-fiber racing buckets, still trimmed in leather. This being the flagship M8, it's a full house inside with a long list of technology and comfort features included. This is the ultimate expression of the premium 8 Series interior.

Seating and Interior Space

The low-slung profile of the new BMW M8 Gran Coupe calls for some ducking and diving when entering, but it's a lot easier to get into the back than in the M8 Coupe. There is plenty of interior space in all directions up front and the standard seats are easy to slide into. Not so the optional carbon-fiber racing buckets, and although these look stunning and are trimmed in the same leather as the standard seats, their rigid bolsters will administer bruises to wayward limbs unless you hoist yourself gingerly over them before sitting down. At $4,500, they're expensive and probably too hardcore for most owners. Visibility out the rear isn't great due to the swoopy design, so you'll have to rely on the parking sensors and rear-view camera when backing up.

后排,genuinel空间y surprising, and the 36.6 inches on offer is a huge seven inches up on the cramped M8 Coupe. The headroom is cozy at 37.1 inches, but it is still enough to accommodate adults in comfort, something that can definitely not be said about the M8 Coupe. Just stay away from the center perch - it's raised, so you'll slide around and inevitably lean on your rear-seat compatriots around corners as your legs straddle the center tunnel. It's a token gesture and not meant to be used, but if you have to, it does have its own seatbelt.

Interior Colors and Materials

Inside, the BMW M8 Gran Coupe's seats are covered in Extended Merino leather, and the dashboard in Nappa leather. Other surfaces are trimmed in such a premium grade of leatherette that you won't be able to tell the difference, while the headliner is Alcantara. There are many interior colors for the M8 Gran Coupe to choose from; Black is the default, and Silverstone is a no-cost option. The headliner, pillars, and upper dash remain black, but a headliner color-coded to the upholstery can be specified at no additional cost. For $3,500 extra, Full Merino leather is available in the same two color schemes, as well as an additional seven: Sakhir Orange/Black, Midrand Beige, Taruma Brown, two BMW Individual options, namely Ivory White/Night Blue, and Ivory White/Tortufo, as well as Black/Sakhir Orange and Black/Midrand Beige, the last two being Alcantara-and-cloth combinations.

The standard interior trim is Carbon Fiber, but Ash Grain Grey-Metallic Wood can be specified at no cost. Two extra-cost BMW Individual trim finishes are available, and both cost $1,080. They are Piano Black and Ash Black Silver Wood.

2023 M8 Gran Coupe Trunk and Cargo Space

Stowage space in the interior is by no means abundant, but what there is is practical and easy enough to use, including the roomy glovebox and center-console storage. The door pockets are limited in size, but at least they are provided both front and rear. There are two cupholders up front and seatback pockets on both front seats.

Counterintuitively, while the Gran Coupe is a proper four-seater, it offers less trunk space than the Coupe, which is not a proper four-seater. Compared to the two-door, the trunk volume is down from 14.8 to 11 cubic feet. To add insult to injury, this is less than half of the Audi RS7's near-25-cube cavern. Thankfully, the rear seats do split and fold 40/20/40 to provide more luggage space - although it's obviously at the expense of passenger capacity. BMW doesn't provide a number for the luggage compartment with the seats folded. Touring four-up with luggage is, therefore, not on the cards due to the limited trunk space of the BMW M8 Gran Coupe. What doesn't fit in there stays at home, because the M8 is not rated to tow.

FAQs

How many seats does the BMW M8 Gran Coupe have?

While the M8 Gran Coupe has five seatbelts, there is realistically only seating for four. The rear seat is not sculpted for a center passenger, so anyone perched here will sit high and have very little headroom. Worse, they have to put their legs and feet on either side of the intrusive center console. This should be considered an emergency seat only.

How big is the M8 Gran Coupe’s trunk?

Trunk capacity with all seats in use is 11 cubic feet. This is too small for luggage for four passengers. Folding down the rear seats liberates more space, but at the expense of two rear-seat passengers. A compromise can be reached by folding down just one of the rear seats; in such a case, three passengers and their luggage can be accommodated.
