2023 M8 Coupe Exterior

The BMW 8 Series is a handsome car, but our only problem is that the M8 looks a bit too similar to the rest of the 8 Series lineup, despite the subtly restyled grille and new dark detailing for the headlights. Some optional exterior features help it stand out a bit more, but we wish BMW had taken a more aggressive approach here. Standard BMW M8 exterior features include 20-inch M star-spoke bi-color wheels wrapped with performance run-flat tires, Shadowline exterior trim with high-gloss black kidney grilles, mirror caps, a rear apron, and an M8 Competition logo. You also get a rear spoiler, M carbon roof, quad exhaust tailpipes, and signature M side grilles. Being one of the most decadent M cars, the M8 comes with Icon Adaptive LED headlights with Laserlight; on many other BMWs, this is optional or not available at all.

Exterior Colors

BMW has mixed up the M8's color palette quite substantially for the 2023 model year. Several metallics - Brands Hatch Grey, Donington Grey, Bluestone, Barcelona Blue, Motegi Red, Ametrin, and Frozen Bluestone - have fallen away this year. But almost as many colors are new, those being Isle of Man Green, Brooklyn Grey, Skyscraper, Frozen Pure Grey, and Frozen Tanzanite Blue. The last two colors cost $5,000 each, and you can pay $1,950 extra for Aventurin Red, Dravit Grey, and Tanzanite Blue II. The rest of the colors carry no added cost, a list that includes Marina Bay Blue, Black Sapphire, and the only non-metallic hue, Alpine White. Because the M8 can look a little too subtle for a car that costs over $130,000, we're inclined to go with one of the more unique colors like Isle of Man Green or Tanzanite Blue II. Obviously, the choice of 2023 BMW M8 colors will be entirely subjective.
