越来越多的美国人是crosso所吸引ver SUVs, many automakers that were primarily producing specialized cars have had to branch out to get a piece of the very sought-after pie, which is why the US gets the 2021 Mini Cooper Countryman. Mini has, for a long time, been respected for its fun, retro-Euro, bijou cars and bringing in the compact 5-door SUV may have been seen as a travesty to many Mini enthusiasts, but the Countryman SUV still boasts the novel and lovable design and fun and sprightly drive dynamics that have become so synonymous with the brand, just in a moderately larger package. Unfortunately, the 2021 Countryman's measly 134-horsepower 1.5-liter turbo 3-cylinder unit does take away from the experience, but if you're a devoted Mini fan and are willing to spend the money, the top-spec Cooper S model comes with a livelier 189-hp 2.0-liter turbo-4. Whatever the case, the latest Mini Cooper Countryman is a tough sell alongside compelling and more sensible alternatives such as theAudi Q3,BMW X1, and theVolvo XC40.
The competition in the compact luxury crossover segment is fierce, but the 2021 Mini Cooper Countryman is armed with a host of upgrades this year to keep it in the game. The front and rear have been improved with new bumpers. Both LED headlights and LED fog lights are now standard. The rear now also features the famous Union Jack LEDs first seen on the Mini hatch. Customers can now also replace the chrome exterior accents with gloss black for a more premium look. Finally, there are some new alloy wheel designs and two new exterior colors to choose from.
Upgrades to the interior are primarily design-related as well. The infotainment system's chrome surround has been replaced with gloss-black, and it's now Amazon Alexa compatible; the standard screen size has also increased to 8.8 inches for 2021. A new digital instrument cluster is available, and the Mini Yours Interior Style collection has been bolstered with a more extensive selection of trims and colors. A new Mini Countryman Oxford Edition is available. It has everything found in the Classic sub-trim along with upgraded 18-inch wheels, heated front seats, and automatic climate control. At a starting price of $29,100, it's the most affordable Countryman you can buy.

标准的同胞SUV,除了我n the Cooper S, is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-3 engine that's been modulated for a miniscule 134 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. Outputs are ceded through a 7-speed automatic transmission to the compact SUVs front-wheel drive or through an 8-speed automatic transmission to the ALL4 version's all-wheel drivetrain. In the top-tier Cooper S trim is a more puissant 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 gas engine that dispatches up to 189 hp and 284 lb-ft through a 7-speed DCT in FWD versions or an 8-speed in AWD versions.
Quirky and contemporary design and engaging drive dynamics are qualities that most, if not all, Mini enthusiasts admire, and these are qualities that the Countryman does bear. With that said, its base turbo-3 engine is a major let down, as its power and torque outputs just feel too meager for the size and weight of the crossover SUV. The turbo-4 unit in the top-tier Cooper S trim does improve performance significantly, but the trim is expensive and really lacks value when it comes to creature comforts, conveniences, and technology. Both powertrains are notably fuel-efficient, if anything. Mini doesn't offer the Countryman with Apple CarPlay, something the cheapest vehicle in the USA, the Chevrolet Spark, comes with as standard. The 2021 Mini Cooper Countryman hasn't undergone review for its crashworthiness and safety, but this second-gen iteration has been subject to numerous recalls and reliability expectations have never been favorable for the nameplate. At the 2021 Mini Cooper Countryman SUV's price, we feel there are many far better premium crossover SUVs to choose from.
We'd suggest avoiding any Countryman model with the 1.5-liter inline-3 engine as it just plainly sucks, which means we're left solely with the top-tier and most expensive Cooper S. The FWD variant does feel slightly more nimble than the ALL4 AWD variant, and it comes outfitted with a sporty S suspension. The Signature is the trim we'd opt for as it comes with a nice selection of cosmetic and feature inclusives and options, including keyless entry, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a power tailgate. It can also be painted in British Racing Green, which can then be paired with a stylish white roof.
