Power is sent to the front, or all four wheels, via a nine-speed auto trans. The EPA rates the MDX's fuel economy at 19/25/21 mpg city/highway/combined for the AWD A-Spec model, increasing to 20/27/23 mpg for FWD models - just a fraction behind the QX60. The exterior of the MDX is arguably more modern looking, but step inside the cabin, and you'll be hard-pressed to tell which interior design looks the most dated. What the Acura does offer are slightly better quality interior materials. Interior space is on par with the QX60, but the MDX offers a lot more cargo space, especially behind the front seats. On the road, the MDX is perfectly capable, but, as with the QX60, doesn't deliver the most enthralling driving experience. The MDX is closely priced to the QX60, so the winner in this competition will boil down to personal choice. However, we'd recommend the Acura.
