Rare 1997 Supra Turbo 15th Anniversary Edition Is Worth Every Penny

One of only 384 examples of the 1997 Turbo Supra were finished in Deep Jewel Green Pearl.

A gorgeous 1997 Supra Turbo 15th Anniversary Edition is currently being auctioned off onBring a Trailer, and with the current bid sitting at $105,000 with three days left, we know the price will land well above thatwhen the dust settles. But can you blame them? Not only is this one of the most coveted vehicles there is (whether it deserves it or not), but it also has all the right options, including a Getrag six-speed manual, twin turbos, and a Targa top. Importantly, it's the 15th Anniversary Edition and is finished in a stunning shade of Deep Jewel Green Pearl paint, one of only 384 turbo Supras with this finish.

When one of these cars comes up for auction, it's safe to assume it will land somewhere around the $100,000 range. This is double the price of a modern-dayToyota GR Supra, which gets a45th Anniversary Edition for 2024. Perhaps one day the 45th will garner prices like this too. Regardless of whether that happens, the A80 Supra has proven you can'tput a price on nostalgia.

There's a lot to like about this car, especially that it has spent its entire life registered in Delaware, the title is clean, and it has a clean Carfax as well. The 74k miles on the odometer may seem a tad high to some, but cars like to be driven, so this could actually be a blessing in disguise. The last thing anyone wants is to take their 20-year-old $130,000, 5,000-mile car out for its first drive only to realize it's leaking fluids, even if parts areeasier to come by than ever.

The fact that it's stock is also a massive bonus.

Another great thing about this vehicle is that it wears the correct color scheme of Deep Jewel Green over Ivory leather (though Imperial Jade Mica is also acceptable). Limited Edition 15th Anniversary badging is found all around, and the car also features fog lights, the iconic massive rear wing, 17-inch five-spoke chrome wheels, and a Torsen limited-slip differential.

Some of the issues and services are noted in the listing and highlighted in pictures as well. The major is that signs of paintwork are visible on the right fender and the seller reports that the hatch bumpers were replaced. There is also some wear on the driver's seat, which is to be expected since this example has been driven, and the valve cover finish is fading. The seller notes that the brake master cylinder was replaced in 2021, and the AC was recharged the same year as well.

The seller, selling the vehicle on behalf of a retail dealership in Florida, also states the underbody has been dry-iced in preparation for being sold. Currently, the $105,000 price is four bids in. But again it's early in the auction, and things will likely change quickly as we near the end.
