The Mini Countryman range consists of the Cooper, Cooper ALL4, Cooper S, Cooper S ALL4, Boardwalk Edition, Boardwalk Edition ALL4, and Cooper SE ALL4. The standard Cooper uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 134 hp and 162 lb-ft. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine in the S and S-based Boardwalk models is much better, with outputs of 189 hp and 206 lb-ft. It's more powerful and nearly as efficient. FWD models are mated to a seven-speed DCT gearbox, while AWD models are equipped with an eight-speed automatic.
All Mini Countryman models are sold in base Classic sub-trim, apart from the Boardwalk Editions. The latter is an S-based trim with a set list of features specific to the model, such as the Deep Laguna paintwork and black Cross Punch leather. The Classic trim comes with leatherette seats, manual climate control, a rearview camera, forward collision avoidance, and a basic 8.8-inch multimedia interface with basic USB and Bluetooth functionality. Only the top trim Iconic offers power front seats, Apple CarPlay, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
