The two Mazda MX-5 Miata RF trims share the same specs in terms of their standard engine and transmission: Both the Club and Grand Touring trim levels use the same 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-pot engine with the same specifications - 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft - but the former gets a six-speed manual and the latter also offers the option of a six-speed automatic. These are the only two drivetrain configurations available. While the Club is an entry-level model, it's more expensive than the Grand Touring as it now includes the Brembo/BBS/Recaro package is standard.

The Club trim comes standard with the Brembo/BBS Recaro Package, with 17-inch BBS forged wheels, Brembo front brakes, Recaro sports seats, and a body kit. The Grand Touring model adds climate control, body-colored exterior trim, leather seats, navigation, auto-dimming mirrors, automatic headlights, and automatic wipers.
On the driver assistance side, the Club and Grand Touring trim both come standard with forward-collision warning, automatic braking, lane-departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. The top-spec Grand Touring also comes with traffic-sign recognition.
The Brembo/BBS Recaro Package with Brembo front brakes with red calipers, 17-inch BBS alloy wheels, an aero kit in Brilliant Black, and heated Black Recaro sports seats with gray accents is standard on the Club and not available on the Grand Touring.
Mazda also offers a $1,560 Appearance Package for both models, and in both cases, it adds some more aggression to the exterior via a front air dam, a rear bumper skirt, side-sill extensions, and a black rear lip spoiler.
