While the NHTSA hasn't subjected the CR-V to crash testing, the IIHS has put the crossover through its paces. Safety reviews for the Honda CR-V from the authority are favorable, with all Good scores and a Top Safety Pick+award for 2023.
NHTSA safety ratings are not available at this time.

The new-gen Honda CR-V was recall-free at the time of writing. The 2022 model had two recalls to mention, and these pertained only to hybrid models where a driveshaft failure and faulty seatbelt retractor were problematic.
Honda will cover the CR-V with a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, a three-year/unlimited-mile corrosion warranty, and a five-year/60,000-mile drivetrain warranty. Hybrid models get eight years or 100,00 miles of coverage.
Despite not having an official safety rating, the CR-V family has traditionally scored well in safety evaluations and crash tests.
The 2023 CR-V is still new, so there isn't a J.D. Power rating just yet. No recalls were listed for 2023 models at the time of this review, and 2022 Honda CR-Vs had just two recalls pertaining to the hybrid models.
