And it looks absolutely spectacular.

Ford Performance has finally unveiled the Mustang GT4, lifting the cover off its latest race car at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium.

基于新Mustang Dark Horse, the GT4 is powered by a Coyote-based V8 engine developed specifically for racing. The automaker hasn't shared any powertrain details, but the road-going Dark Horse produces a healthy 500 horsepower. These motors will be built by Ford in Dearborn.

The GT4 wears a unique aero package and benefits from natural fiber body panels to make it lighter. Multimatic DSSV dampers and a Holinger dog-ring gearbox, along with paddle shifters with pneumatic actuation, form part of the package. Multimatic will head up production of the new racing car.

"We're proud to work with so many great partners on these race vehicle programs, said Christian Hertrich, Motorsports powertrain manager, Ford Performance. "It's also special to be able to do all of the engine work for the Mustang GT4 fully in-house. We've got a great team, and I'm excited for Mustang fans to see the Mustang GT4 in action."

Thanks to the video above, we get to enjoy the raw V8 sound of the new GT4. It sounds absolutely fantastic; the unbridled V8 emits a raspy V8 growl that sets it apart from the typical baritone burble one associates with the Mustang. Its bigger brother, the GT3, hasan equally intoxicating exhaust note.

The GT4 is the latest car revealed as part of Ford's motorsport onslaught, dubbed "Ford vs. Everyone" by CEO Jim Farley.

福特adorned the GT4 with its new livery, created by Troy Lee Designs. First seen on the Mustang GT3, this brightly-colored livery has also been used on the SuperVan 4.2, theall-electric time attackvehicle that competed at Pikes Peak this past weekend.

With the new GT4, Ford will have the perfect weapon to retain its presence in the SRO GT4 category, which it has competed in since 2017. Available to professional racers and amateurs alike, the Mustang GT4 will strengthen the Blue Oval's stake in global racing and ensure the automaker's heritage as a motorsport-fuelled brand continues unabated. We're looking forward to seeing the forthcoming Mustang-based racers.
