Tesla Model X Receives Updated Model S Headlights

一个ccording to an internal document, the updated lights are headed to global markets.

Tesla has updated the headlights on theModel Xwith what appears to be the same lighting technology found on theModel S updates last year.

The news broke from Twitter user Nic Cruz Patane, who posted images of the updated headlights on the social media platform. The Model X in the photos was said to be shipped units to Toronto, Canada, suggesting that the changes have already been rolled out in Tesla's assembly line in Fremont, California.

The updated Model X headlights will reportedly arrive in global markets. According to an internal note obtained byDrive Tesla Canada, Tesla refers to the new equipment as "global headlamps" and is part of the automaker's strategy to have "one lamp for all markets."

The internal document, however, didn't include any technical specifications though it did mention that updated lights can be controlled to project different lighting patterns, depending on the requirement of the country in which the vehicle will be sold.

The owner of the photo called the updated lights "matrix LEDs." However, these are technically just adaptive LED headlights, as matrix LEDs have several bulbs that can switch off specific ones whenever necessary (like an oncoming vehicle). The new lights appear only to have two bulbs (high and low beams) that don't have this capability. The automaker hasn't announced the specifics of the headlight technology, nor has it mentioned any other upgrades apart from lighting.

The headlight change isn't groundbreaking, though we must note that Tesla is quite conservative when updating its vehicles. The lastmajor update to the Model X was in 2021when it received the Plaid variant that catapulted the power output from 778 horsepower to a crazy 1,020 hp.

一个part from the Model X, the other Tesla to receive an update would be the Model 3, its most affordable offering. However, the updates, known internally as "Highland," won't be limited to the headlights. Aninsider spilled the beans recently, with changes not limited to exterior and interior elements but also performance and technology. The facelifted Model 3 has also been spotted on the road withupdated taillights.
