One should never lose sight of the fact that the four-wheel-drive Ford F-150 Raptor is a specialized off-road machine and not some drag strip queen. Ford has spent much time and money developing this pickup for the great outdoors, and as an adventure and off-road vehicle, it's excellent. The trusted 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine delivers the same 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque as before and will get you to 60 mph in around 5.5 seconds based on independent tests. If that's not quick enough, the new Raptor R should satisfy your appetite for power and speed. Its 5.2-liter supercharged V8 delivers 700 hp and 640 lb-ft, and makes a magnificent noise. Ford has made no claims about the 0-60 time, although insiders have said it won't match the Ram 1500 TRX's 4.5-second effort. That possibly has something to do with the Raptor R's 37-inch tires, but we still expect it to accomplish the benchmark sprint in around five seconds.
The Raptor's tall stance and all-terrain tires limit its top speed to 118 mph on standard tires and 112 mph on 37-inch tires. Towing capacity is also not the greatest at 8,200 lbs (8,700 lbs for the Raptor R), but this can once again be blamed on the Raptor's specialized nature; it's not a workhorse. With part-time 4WD, the Raptor can be driven in 2H and then switched to 4H or low-range depending on the situation.
引擎盖下的2022年的福特f - 150“猛禽”the well-known 3.5L turbocharged EcoBoost V6. This power plant is mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission which sends its power to all four wheels. This engine might not be massively powerful by modern standards, but with 450 hp and 510 lb-ft available from 3,000 pm. While these power figures remain unchanged over the previous truck, Ford has tweaked the torque curve to offer more shove earlier in the range for improved off-road performance. This has also made the truck easier to drive in traffic. The Raptor is excellent at highway cruising, and off-road, you'll be amazed at how this F-150 picks up speed, even over seriously rough terrain. The ten-speed automatic transmission is smooth and receptive, even when pushing hard. We appreciate the fact that Ford has given the truck a more burly voice, thanks to a new three-inch equal-length exhaust system with a modified X-pipe. The new exhaust note sounds much more menacing, adding to the Raptor's tough-guy persona.
As good as the standard Raptor is, driving the Raptor R is an entirely different experience. The 5.2-liter supercharged V8's outputs of 700 hp and 640 lb-ft ensure rapid progress, but it's the brawny exhaust note that really separates it from the V6. Like the standard Raptor, the R uses the same smooth ten-speed auto transmission.

What do you get when you combine a 450-hp turbocharged V6 or 700-hp supercharged V8 with a nearly-6,000 lbs truck? Bad gas mileage. The Ford F-150 Raptor is not light on the go juice and will, according to the EPA, return a tear-jerking 15/18/16 mpg city/highway/combined. Add the 37-inch wheel package, and you're looking at a fuel economy figure of 15/16/15 mpg. The Raptor R's numbers are even more dismal at 10/15/12 mpg, although that's roughly what the Ram 1500 TRX can achieve too.
With a fuel capacity of 36 gallons in extended range spec, the Ford F-150 Raptor should be able to manage 576 miles on a single tank, if you behave. The Raptor R will be limited to about 432 miles when its tank is full.
