2024 Ford F-150 Raptor

Although we don't have a confirmed price for the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor for the USA, the 2023 model starts at $76,775. That MSRP will probably rise to between $78k and $79k for the 2024 version. For the V8 Raptor R, the cost will exceed $110k, making it the most expensive F-150 by a huge margin.

There aren't many rivals that can match the Raptor's breadth of talents, but the Ram 1500 TRX comes closest. The TRXwill not be around for much longer, but it starts at about $85k.

Like the rest of the F-150 range, the 2024 F-150 Raptor models have received a subtle visual facelift. The exterior of the Ford F-150 Raptor is still as aggressive as ever, with a unique wide blacked-out grille to set apart this high-performance model from regular F-150s. Forged front tow hooks and LED headlights are standard, while the more powerful Raptor R has a power dome on the hood, one of several styling changes that are unique to this variant. New symmetrical hood graphics are available for both Raptors, while the R has special graphics above the wheel lip molding. Another change is a new modular front bumper that is compatible with accessories, while a light bar attachment can be equipped to these Raptors.

As before, the Raptor can be fitted with 37-inch tires (these are standard on the R) for maximum off-road capability, and there are dual exhaust outlets at the back. The regular Raptor gets 35-inch tires by default, and both have 17-inch wheels. For 2024, the range of colors for the Ford F-150 Raptor now includes Shelter Green. Last year's colors included Agate Black, Rapid Red, and Code Orange, which are expected to carry over.

Ford has introduced a newly available Pro Access Tailgate that is the first 100-degree fully opened integrated swing gate in the segment. However, it's unclear if this feature is available on the Raptor.

Whereas the normal F-150 comes in various body styles, the new Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck only has access to the SuperCrew body style with the 5.5-foot bed. Other key dimensions for the Ford F-150 Raptor include a 145.4-inch wheelbase and 232.6-inch body length. Without the mirrors, it's already 86.6 inches wide (87 inches in the case of the Raptor R), and with the mirrors extended, you'll need to take care down narrow lanes as the Raptor is 96 inches wide. The Raptor has a height of 79.8 inches, while the R stands 80.6 inches tall.

Mighty and mightier remain the two engine choices for the Ford F-150 Raptor, starting with the familiar high-output 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that was introduced first. It produces 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque and is paired to a ten-speed automatic transmission. A two-speed torque-on-demand four-wheel-drive system with mechanical lock is standard, as is an electronic locking rear differential with a 4.10 axle. Based on independent tests, the 0-60 mph time for this model is about 5.5 seconds.

For the truly power-hungry, the Raptor R has a 5.2-liter supercharged V8. Ford has not quoted outputs for the 2024 model, but these should be in line with the 700 hp and 640 lb-ft of the 2023 version. It has the same transmission and 4x4 system, and the 0-60 time is estimated to take about five seconds, accompanied by an absorbing V8 supercharged soundtrack.

For 2024, the Raptor comes with new FOX Dual Live Valve shocks in place of the Live-Valve shocks, although Ford says the latter will still be available on some configurations. The new setup ensures superior on- and off-road performance, especially when combined with position-sensitive compression control. The electronic suspension controls and Ford algorithms constantly analyze and adjust to the terrain. This serious dune-basher also has a five-link rear suspension, a Panhard rod, and 24-inch coil springs. These components allow the Raptor to fly across rough terrain at high speeds.

Further assisting drivers in off-roading conditions is a terrain management system with seven selectable modes, along with standard trail control, effectively a cruise control for low speeds. Since it is engineered for off-roading, the specialized Raptor's towing capacity has taken a hit compared to some other F-150s. It can tow up to 8,200 lbs with the V6 and 8,700 lbs with the V8.

Based on the latest EPA figures, it will cost a lot to keep the Raptor fueled up. The V6 model for 2023 returns 15/18/16 mpg city/highway/combined, but that drops to 14/16/15 mpg with the optional 37-inch tires. The V8-powered Raptor R is one of the least efficient vehicles you can buy - it can only manage 10/15/12 mpg.

Thankfully, a large 36-gallon gas tank is standard. This gives the V6 model a range of up to 576 miles while the V8 will only get 432 miles from the same amount of fuel.

With the SuperCrew body style, the interior of the Ford F-150 Raptor has enough space for five occupants to get comfortable. Standard highlights include a 12-inch touchscreen display running SYNC 4 software, a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, and a 14-speaker B&O sound system.

Like the 2023 model, we expect several Raptor-specific trim and styling choices inside this sporty pickup. Black is the predominant color scheme, and leather should be standard. The V8 Ford F-150 Raptor R has standard Recaro front sports seats to suit its athletic nature.

Cargo space in the Ford F-150 Raptor is 52.8 cubic feet, while the maximum payload is 1,400 lbs. The standard 2.0-kW Pro Power Onboard equipped to the normal Raptor provides enough power for items like a speaker, blender, or mini fridge. If you need more interior storage space, the second-row flip-up bench is useful.
