调谐宝马M3Makes More Power Than Lamborghini Revuelto

Tuning /3 Comments

The straight-six motor has been fettled to produce four figures of hellish horsepower.

A tuning shop in Puerto Rico has extracted a staggering 1,026.7 horsepower from aBMW M3Competition xDrive, thanks to a few choice modifications. To achieve this monstrous figure, Bimmer PR has fitted the sedan with a KLM Race S58 turbo kit, Precision Turbo & Engine 7275 Gen 2 turbocharger, Valvetronic full titanium exhaust system, and a CSF intake manifold charge-air cooler. A methanol injection kit also forms part of the package.

The Bavarian beast was running onE85 ethanol fuel, which can boost power and torque by as much as 20% in some vehicles, and thanks to increased exhaust gas flow, the turbos can spool faster.

This has to be the most extreme tuned G80 M3 engine since theDriftbrothers boosted their M4sto 1,035 hp two years ago.

The first dyno attempt shows the Bimmer's engine produces 995.4 hp. However, on the second run, Bimmer PR breaks through the 1,000-hp mark with an impressive final figure of 1,026.7 horses at 40 psi; it's a good thing this car sends its power to both axles. To put its output into perspective, this four-door sedan produces more power than a Ferrari SF90, aLamborghini Revuelto, or even a Bugatti Veyron.

More importantly, this build has more than double the power of a regular M3 Competition (503 hp), which begs the question of what the engine internals are like. Whether stock or forged, this is the first G80 M3 to breach the 1,000 hp mark in Puerto Rico, according to the tuner.

We'd love to see how this M3 puts its power down and what this surfeit of muscle does to the performance. As a reminder, the standard Competition xDrive can scorch to 60 mph in a mere 3.4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 155 mph (180 mph if you select the M Driver's Package).

Considering that, we expect Bimmer PR's supercar destroyer to shave at least half a second off the 0-60 sprint and have powerful in-gear acceleration. Renowned BMW tuner G-Poweronly managed to get 720 hpfrom the M3 Competition, so this build illustrates how a big single turbo certainly can provide more oomph than two quicker-responding small-frame turbos, especially when the right fueling is added to the mix.

Sure, drivability suffers somewhat, but the benefits are definitely worth it.
