There are three trims in the regular BMW 7 Series lineup: the 740i, the 740i xDrive, and the 760i xDrive. Powering the 740i models is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine making 375 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard but all-wheel drive configurations are included in xDrive trims. The 760i uses a larger 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that develops 536 hp and 553 lb-ft, which is sent to all four wheels. An eight-speed sport automatic transmission handles the gears for every trim.
Standard specifications include 20-inch alloy wheels, adaptive automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and adaptive LED brake lights. The interior is upholstered in Veganza leather and the front seats are power-adjustable. Features comprise quad-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, and auto-dimming mirrors. Infotainment is accessed via a 14.9-inch touchscreen, which supports wireless smartphone integration and channels audio through a 19-speaker sound system. The safety suite includes forward collision avoidance, lane management tech, and blind-spot monitoring.
The specs of the BMW 7 Series can be further upgraded with heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic LED sunroof, and a 40-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system but upgrading to higher trim levels or optioning on some packages.
As comprehensively outfitted as the BMW 7 Series is, there are still numerous package options available to further enhance or customize your purchase. For the 740i and 750e, this includes the Premium Package at $1,750, adding the Parking Assistant Professional, a 3D surround-view camera, active driving assistant, and the illuminated kidney grille. The Executive Package ($4,600) comprises crystal headlights, automatic soft-closing doors, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and front-seat massage. The same package costs $3,700 for the 760i, as some features are already included as standard.
Also for the 740i and 750e is the Driving Assistance Professional Package ($2,500), which adds Active Driving Assistant Pro and Highway Assist. Some standalone upgrades include Luxury Rear Seating ($3,000), a panoramic LED roof ($950), and a 40-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system ($4,800). The Rear Executive Lounge Seating Package is unique to the 760i and costs $7,250.
