The Polestar 4 should be here by 2023.

Polestar, the EV manufacturer from Sweden, is making massive strides of late. The company yesterday announced that it will belisted on the Nasdaqat a value of $20 billion in partnership with Gores Guggenheim Inc., and this month we caught a glimpse of the company'supcoming new sedanthat is set to take the battle directly to competitors like the Porsche Taycan,Tesla Model Sand Audi e-tron GT. ThePolestar 3is the model currently grabbing headlines and will be the company's first ever SUV when it makes its debut this year, after which the Precept grand tourer should make an appearance in 2023.

旗下公司,部分原因是中国的吉利和卷vo has now made further announcements, with CEO Thomas Ingenlath explaining how the company will expand its lineup with a second SUV, the Polestar 4, a more affordable, midsize SUV-coupe.

The Polestar 4 was recently previewed as a silhouette, and was set against its siblings the Polestar 3 and 5. The car, which we suspect will share a similar shape to the Volvo C40 Recharge, clearly slots in between the two in terms of size. The crossover-coupe body style is also noticeable from the photos.

Not only will the Polestar 4 be an in-betweener when it comes to its physical size size, but it will also place more importance on affordability and accessibility over outright performance. Ingenlath told the media that while the Polestar 3 will share similar dimensions with the Volvo XC90 and share the same SPA2 architecture, the 4 will be smaller, and less expensive. The Polestar 3 is expected to cost over $75,000.

Despite being smaller, Ingenlath says that the 4 won't cut too many corners when it comes to passenger comfort. "This car is slightly smaller, yes, but we will not compromise much on the interior length. It's slightly more ground-hugging and has a bit more of a coupe type of roofline and really brings the greatness of the brand into a segment which, price-point-wise, will reach €45,000 ($52,604) at some point in time."

The 3 and four will also offer different interior "environments" according to their price points but will share a drivetrain setup, which is rumored to be the twin-motor setup used in the Polestar 2, and will in essence be the SUV version of the 2. Expect the Polestar 4 to arrive sometime in 2023.
