Lincoln Builds Full Size 'Anniversary' Concept

It'll fit right in with the other luxury GTs at Pebble Beach.

The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, and the events that surround it like The Quail, bring thebest designs in the worldto Northern California once a year. Many times they'renew supercars, sometimes they're concepts, and sometimes, like with this Lincoln, they're design studies brought to life in metal.

In June, Lincoln brought togetherfour teams of transportation design students从ArtCenter设计学院,从不同disciplines including film, entertainment, illustrators and animators. Lincoln and its global design director told the teams to create a Lincoln vehicle for 2040, but also to create "the world in which those vehicles live - even the lives of the people who drive them."

This vehicle is one of the four called Anniversary. It's a sleek four-passenger Lincoln grand tourer with technology that can access the photos and locations of your life. In the original display it featured couple Julianne and Greg on their 30th wedding anniversary. They revisit some favorite spots from their youth as the car shows them memories on the dashboard.

"The storyboarding presented by these students was beyond impressive, showcasing their rich design talent and creative approach to storytelling," said Kemal Curic, global director, Lincoln. "This is precisely why we decided to create a full-sized replica of one of the projects, highlight the amazing talent in tomorrow's designers and their unique perspective of our Lincoln Quiet Flight brand DNA."

一个nniversary looks extremely close to the一个udi skysphere conceptthat just went on display. It's a low-slung coupe with a long hood and short deck, and it looks inspired by the company's coupes from last century. The hood features design lines to make it look like the teak deck of a wooden boat. A classicLincoln Continental, it is not.

This is supposed to be a four-passenger vehicle, so we can see a little (very little) extra space in the rear for back passengers. We've been given no information on a concept powertrain for this vehicle, but Lincoln did note in its release, the Anniversary Concept is "not for sale."
