Only two trims make up the Volvo S90 lineup this year: the Plus and the Ultimate. They share a twin-charged four-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends 295 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels.
Standard specifications include 19-inch alloy wheels and full LED exterior lights. You also get a panoramic moonroof, a leather-appointed interior, quad-zone climate control, heated front and rear seats, and loads of safety features such as blind-spot assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and Pilot Assist. The Google-powered infotainment supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and comes paired with a 10-speaker sound system.
The upper-tier trim adds ventilated front seats, passenger-seat memory, Nappa leather, and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. there is an air-suspension configuration available, and you can choose to upgrade the sound system further.
Volvo doesn't offer many options, as a lot of features are already standard. The base model has access to an $800 sound upgrade with the 14-speaker Harman Kardon setup, while both trims can install the Polestar Engineered Optimisation system ($1,400), which improves gearshifts, throttle responses, and mid-range engine performance. The Ultimate can opt for the $1,500 Lounge package. This adds a luxury rear armrest, ventilated rear seats, and backrest massage front seats. At this point, you can also add the Four-C adaptive air suspension for $1,200, or a 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system for $3,200.
