2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan Safety and Reliability

As with many high-priced luxury models, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class has no official safety review from the NHTSA. IIHS does occasionally crash-test these cars, but it has not yet done so for the latest generation. The previous-gen model scored top marks and a Top Safety Pick+ for 2021, which the all-new models will hopefully build upon.

A lot of safety features come standard on the C-Class, including a rearview camera, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and emergency braking, a driver attention system, active brake assist, and blind-spot assist. This suite can be expanded with rear-cross traffic alert, Parktronic with active park assist, a surround-view camera, lane-keep assist, evasive steering assist, and a head-up display.

Seven airbags are standard, along with ABS, and stability and traction control. Additional rear side-impact airbags can be added optionally at a cost of $700.

While there is no official reliability rating for the 2023 model year, the 20222 Mercedes-Benz C-Class scores 81 out of 100 from J.D. Power for quality and reliability - with no changes for the new year, and no recalls for either year at the time of writing, this is likely to carry over.

Mercedes provides a four-year/50,000 basic warranty in case something goes wrong, which also covers the powertrain.
