Industry News /Comments

The Ioniq 6 is one of the few Hyundais that remains untouched for the new model year.

It's halfway through the year, and Hyundai has decided it is the perfect opportunity to announce sweeping 2024 model year updates across its lineup.

We havealready covered the all-new 2024 Hyundai Kona, while the still-fresh Ioniq 6 sees no new changes whatsoever, so we'll exclude these models from this summary. We also won't cover the all-new 2024 Santa Fe, the 2024 Elantra, and the 2024 Sonata, all of which will be detailed at a news conference later this summer. Finally, you can read more about the2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz and its rugged XRT trim here.

Even though Hyundai'ssales have been on an upward trajectoryfor some time, the Korean automaker knows that it can't become complacent, so here's what customers can expect for the new model year.

2024 Hyundai Tucson

For the new model year, the Tucson receives newly standard features like a seatbelt reminder for all occupants, rear side airbags, rear outboard seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters, and steering wheel haptic feedback for functions like lane-keep assist and blind-spot collision avoidance assist.

The sporty N Line now comes with the 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid powertrain as standard, replacing the previous 2.5-liter that made just 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. Based on the current model, the new hybrid should make a little less power (180 hp) but usefully more torque (195 lb-ft).

Elsewhere, Hampton Gray has been added as a new color choice, the available 10-color ambient lighting system now has 64 colors, more models come with the 10.25-inch touchscreen interface, and dual-zone climate control now starts from the SEL and up.

2024 Hyundai Nexo

Another carry-over model is the hydrogen-poweredNexo, which only sees a few feature updates. The liftgate glass is now tinted for privacy, while the Limited trim gains an auto-down/up function for the rear windows. An odor reduction system is now equipped, as is a newly activated charcoal-type cabin microfilter. The only other changes involve upgrading USB ports from Type-A to Type-C, while Titanium Gray Matte paint replaces Shimmering Silver Metallic.

As far as the Nexo's future goes, Hyundai still seems keen on hydrogen power with the reveal of the N Vision 74 concept last year, which, a hydrogen fuel cell hybrid. There have been conflicting reports about whether this car will be produced, butrecent patents suggest it will. With continued investment in hydrogen, the Nexo may spawn a new-generation model at some stage.

While weawait the reveal of the Ioniq 5 N, which will be revealed this month at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the regular Ioniq 5 range has not been left untouched. Newly standard items include a Wi-Fi hotspot (requires a subscription), rear side airbags, rear outboard seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters, and steering wheel haptic feedback for lane-keep assist and blind-spot collision-avoidance assist.

It's fair to assume that the 600-hp Ioniq 5 N will also benefit from these features when it arrives, plus many more performance goodies such as the N e-Shift system, the N Drift Optimizer, and an advanced heat management system.

2024 Hyundai Venue

但是现代的小交叉是一个遗留模型now comes with second-row dual USB charging for SEL and Limited trims. The SE gains a proximity key with a push-button start, and this base trim also joins the upper trims with an upgraded six-speaker sound system in place of the previous four-speaker setup.

Unfortunately, Hyundai hasn't seen fit to upgrade the underpowered engine, one of the reasons that the Venue isn't the most appealing subcompact crossover you can buy.
