Nissan Dealers Say New Armada Will Be 'Range-Rover Like'

The automaker previewed some of its future products to 3,000 dealer executives, including new EVs and some ICEs, too.

Nissan has previewed future products to US dealers in a meeting in Las Vegas, including three new EVs, next-generation ICEs, and a brand-new technology that has yet to arrive in North America.

In a report by一个utomotive News, Nissan gave the 3,000 dealer executives a glimpse of the redesigned一个rmadaSUV. The dealers said it's dropping the current V8 in favor of a 424-horsepower twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine,confirming what we learned last year. Those who have seen the model described it as "Range Rover-like" and said it's bigger and more rugged-looking.

The automaker also previewed the next-generation Murano and Kicks. The latter, however, is reportedly being delayed until next year.

First came to light two years ago, we already know that the next-generation Leaf (if it were to keep the name)will become a crossoverbased on the CMF-EV platform. It will reportedly become a coupe crossover, previewed in 2021 in adramatic teaser, which, according to an unnamed dealer, looks like a "mini-Ariya." It will arrive by 2025 and have 25% more range than the outgoing model.

Though details are scarce, the Maxima will also become an electric sedan after itsretirement this year.

Nissan also announced to US dealers that its e-Power technology will arrive in American showrooms. It will come in the form of the revampedRogue, scheduled to arrive in the first half of 2026.

Introduced in Japan in 2016, the Nissan Note was the first model to get the e-Power technology. The non-plugin hybrid technology exclusively propels the vehicle through an electric motor but uses an internal combustion gasoline engine to charge the battery on the go.

一个s theperfect middle ground between ICEs and EVs, Nissan vehicles with e-Power have succeeded in markets where it's being offered. In its home market, five Nissan models have e-Power, including the X-Trail, the Rogue's global counterpart.

Nissan previously announced that electric Juke, Rogue, and Rogue Sport crossoverswill be introduced in 2025, though their US arrival is still unscheduled.

With Nissan'spush for electrification, which aims to introduce 27 electrified models (including 19 BEVs) by 2030, the automaker also bared details about its advanced solid-state batteries. They will reportedly have twice the range and power of lithium-ion batteries while being thinner and smaller. They also have the capability to fast charge to 100 miles in 15 minutes.

Nissan will begin pilot production of solid-state batteries in Japan in 2026, but the first EV using this tech waspreviously reported to arrive in 2028.
