It's been a few years. What's taken so long?

Remember Bollinger? It's been two years since the New York-based automotive startup arrived on the scene with a couple of potentially game-changing all-electric, off-road vehicles. TheBollinger B1 SUV and B2 pickup truck功能box-like, minimalist designs that instantly appealed to old school off-road fans. There are definitely traces of originalLand Rover DefenderandJeep Wrangler. The old school look blended with state-of-the-art EV technology could be a winning combination.

But then along cameRivianwhich has since managed to steal much of the spotlight with its own off-road EVs.Ford made a huge investment in Rivianand it's also developing its ownall-electric F-150. Today we can report that Bollinger is still very much in the game as both the electric SUV and truck will debut in production form on September 26.

The company has not provided details regarding specifications and pricing, however. What we do know is that both vehicles are equipped with a 120-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. There are two electric motors – one at each axle – that, combined with the battery, produces a total of 360 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. A 200-mile driving range is expected. Hopefully, Bollinger will offer updated specifications and all related details at next month's reveal. Fingers crossed.

In the meantime, interested customers are invited to reserve a B1 or B2 with no money down, though Bollinger previously made clear neither vehicle will be cheap.

The included video shows the Bollinger team building the likely now completed prototypes by hand, an impossible process when mass production is planned. Could Bollinger also use that reveal date to make another big announcement, say a new factory? A major investment from a mainstream automaker, such as GM? FCA? We honestly don't know at the moment but answers will come in exactly one month.
