There is just one Ram 1500 TRX trim, its basic specs and features based more or less on the 1500 Big Horn, with many of the Rebel's off-road features and a lot of trim-specific bespoke equipment as well. You lose out on some of the more luxurious features of the top trim levels, but Ram adds a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine under the hood. Other model-specific features include a racing truck-inspired suspension and various driving modes. The only drivetrain configuration is an eight-speed automatic transmission with full-time 4WD, and no 2WD mode is available.
Thanks to the 702 hp and 650 lb-ft, performance specifications are very impressive, and it can do 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and a quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds. Since Ram spent most of the money underneath the car, the TRX lacks some features. You get LED lights, auto-dimming heated side mirrors, a 12-inch infotainment system with navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a nine-speaker sound system. Options such as leather upholstery, climate-controlled seats, a surround-view camera, a head-up display, and a premium audio system can be added via the various package selections.
As mentioned earlier, Ram blew the budget on the engine and suspension. So there are quite a few optional packages available. The Advanced Safety Group package costs $995 and adds adaptive cruise control with stop & go, lane-keep assist, pedestrian emergency braking, and a tailgate-ajar warning light. The TRX Carbon Fiber Package costs $1,295 and consists of real carbon-fiber interior inserts and a leather and carbon fiber steering wheel. For $945, you can add four adjustable tie-down hooks, a deployable bed-step, and spray-in bed liner via the Bed Utility Group. The Trailer-Tow Group package adds $595 to the price and includes a trailer-brake controller, trailer-light check, and trailer tire-pressure monitoring.
There are two Equipment Group packages available, called Level 1 and Level 2. Level 1 adds several luxury features, including a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, power-adjustable pedals, ambient lighting, rain-sensing wipers, and a universal garage door opener, to name just a few. It goes for $3,995. Level 2 ($10,995) takes it to full top-spec luxury, adding the 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, blind-spot and rear cross-traffic monitoring, seat memory for the driver, a head-up display, remote-proximity keyless entry, a power tailgate release, a surround-view camera system, a wireless charging pad, leather upholstery, and heated and ventilated front and rear seats. These are just a few of the highlights on an impressively long list of features.
