2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Safety and Reliability

The NHTSA has not completed safety reviews of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 and only did a partial review of the regular four-door Wrangler Unlimited that forms the foundation for the 392. It received four out of five stars for the frontal crash and three out of five stars in the rollover test. The IIHS has a more comprehensive safety review for the 2023 Wrangler on which the Rubicon 392 is based. It scored a Good rating in four crashworthiness tests although the small-overlap driver-side and updated side crashes were only rated Marginal, and headlights were rated as either Marginal or Poor.

On standard Wranglers, you have to add packages to get driver assistance features, but on this model, Jeep includes them as standard. The traditional safety items consist of four airbags, ABS, a rearview camera, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, and traction and stability control. On the driver-assistance side, the 392 has blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, adaptive cruise control with stop & go, roll mitigation, trailer-sway damping, forward-collision warning, and a 97-mph speed limiter.

The 2023 Rubicon 392 hasn't been recalled yet at the time of writing, but the 2022 model was recalled four times for a possible engine stall, fuel-pump failure, an unsecured battery fuse, and inoperative side marker lights.

Each Wrangler is covered by a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
