The Colorado's cargo volume is impressive and among the best in its class. The short bed is surprisingly capacious, offering 41.3 cubic feet of volume. Its width is 57.8 inches across, with a length of 61.7 inches. The long bed measures 74 inches from end to end and shares the same width as that of the short bed. Thanks to its greater overall size, the long bed offers an impressive 49.9 cubic feet of volume. Payload capacity varies between 1,404 and 1,578 pounds, depending on factors including the powertrain.

In the cabin, numerous bins and pockets have been thoughtfully laid out, with the front incorporating a smartphone holder. A typical glovebox and your normal door pockets are included, while a pair of cupholders at the front and another pair at the back keep your passengers satisfied.

The Colorado is a workaday vehicle built to fulfill the requirements of a tradesman. To help it do this, features like trailer sway control are standard across the range. A rearview camera and manual single-zone air-conditioning is also standard fare, with an HD rearview camera and features like cruise control, keyless entry, and power mirrors showing up from the LT model. The Colorado is also intended for leisure, and thus offers more impressive features as you climb the trims. Hill descent control, heated wing mirrors, automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, remote start, a trailer brake controller, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are all available for extra financial outlay. Forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning are available too, with a teen driver function standard across the range.

The base infotainment system in the Chevrolet Colorado is an impressive unit. Dubbed Infotainment 3, it features a seven-inch touchscreen that is easy to navigate and quick to respond. A pair of USB ports are included, and the system incorporates Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Six speakers are standard. Further up the range, Infotainment 3 Plus adds an eight-inch touchscreen with navigation, HD Radio and SiriusXM satellite radio. Wireless charging is also available. An SD card reader, enhanced voice recognition, a Wi-Fi hotspot with a 4G LTE connection, and a seven-speaker Bose sound system are also on the options list.
