The DBS Superleggera Volante is Aston Martin’s range-topping convertible model and as such comes fitted with a twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12 which makes 715 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic gearbox channels all of this power to the rear wheels and the 62 mph sprint takes just 3.6 seconds (0.2-slower than the coupe).
Capable of a 211 mph top speed, it is the fastest Aston Martin convertible in the company’s history. Subtle changes to the car’s aerodynamics mean that total downforce is only slightly less than on the coupe and the eight-layer cloth roof can be opened in 14 seconds to take in that superb engine note.
Standard equipment is pretty comprehensive as you might expect at this lofty level and as with all Astons, the DBS Superleggera Volante can be customized with a vast selection of special colors, fabrics and luxury items. Pricing starts at $329,000 before you delve into this extensive options list and deliveries are set to begin in the third quarter of this year.
