Two Of These Hennessey Venom F5 Builds Are Inspired By The Dodge Viper

Special Editions /Comments

This 16th production Venom F5 recalls the brand's iconic Venom 650R based on the Dodge Viper.

亨尼西is celebrating the delivery of its 16thVenom F5hypercar with a bespoke roadster model that has been inspired by the 1998 Dodge SRT Viper GTS-R Championship Edition. While getting the 16th Venom F5 off the production line may not sound like a big deal to a volume manufacturer, Hennessey Performance only plans to build 24 Venom F5 coupes in total and 30 Venom F5 roadsters. Each one takes time to finish with exotic carbon fiber construction and the ability for each customer to uniquely tailor their cars.

For founder and CEO John Hennessey, this 16thVenom F5 Roadsteris particularly special considering histies to the Viper brand. He is a founding member of the Viper Club of America, while Hennessey Performance became the first company to modify a V10 Viper. A Venom 650R with a top speed of 215 mph, it's this car that helped Hennessey rise to prominence in the 1990s.

This 16th Venom F5 Roadster Heritage Edition's Viper influence can be seen in its Magna White exterior with Sapphire Blue stripes and brushed high-gloss silver wheels. Its owner is Rafael 'Rafa' Martinez, a keen supercar collector as well as the founder and principal of Rafa Racing. Martinez already owns aFerrari SF90, two McLarens (a P1 andSenna), and a Ford GT, and this isn't even his first bespoke Venom F5. He previously bought another one that was inspired by the 1996 Dodge SRT Viper GTS.

亨尼西also shared images of the 16 Venom F5s built so far, and while there are three in yellow/golden hues that are perhaps the most striking, all of them look pretty fantastic. Martinez's two examples are the only two with the Viper-type stripes, but there is also another white example with blue and red striping of its own on the hood. The dark example with yellow pinstripes at the bottom and second from the left looks to be the one that wasrecently acquired by Michael Jordan.

"I'm incredibly proud of our entire team's skill, commitment, and passion," said John Hennessey. "Manufacturing a bespoke hypercar is a monumental challenge that requires meticulous planning, world-class expertise, and determination to be the best. And despite the challenges, it all comes together in the finished product, and I couldn't be more pleased with each of the 16 Venom F5 variants we have delivered already. It goes without saying that Rafa's two Heritage Editions, inspired by Dodge Viper models that were instrumental to the company's success, hold a special place in my heart."

But a much more important moment for the Venom F5 than how it's configured lies ahead this year, as Hennessey willattempt to break through the 300-mph barrier. If verified, the 1,817-horsepower hypercar could officially be announced as the fastest production car on the planet.
