Lincoln Will Release Five New EVs By 2026

The focus of its future range will be premium electrified crossovers.

Ford's strategic EV rollout will soon stretch its legs to the Lincoln brand which could result in a line-up of five new SUV products throughout 2026. Included in this are expected to be battery-electric replacements or supplements for theLincoln Corsair,soon-to-be scrapped Nautilus, and the Aviator and Navigator. These cars are understood to benefit from the $30 billion investment that it has committed to its 2030 electrification venture.

Three people who are well-versed on the source toldReutersthat the first of this batch will be a large SUV boasting similar measurements to the Aviator. We can expect to see this model enter production by late 2024 or early 2025 at the group's Oakville, Ontario plant. There's no clarity on what the company has in store for itsstruggling sedan segments.

Ford's plan to tackle Tesla's market domination head-on will see it push its annual production capacity to 600,000 electrified vehicles within the next 24 months. When approached for comment regarding the new products, Lincoln spokeswoman Anika Salceda-Wycoco said it was "too early to talk about specific details around future vehicle or production plans."

Two sources said that the aforementioned Oakville plant will be a recipient of a $1.5 billion conversion that will remove the existing combustion-engine line with one that supports battery-electric vehicles. It's reported that this plan has already been shared with Lincoln's suppliers. The EV Corsair and Nautilus will follow the upcoming larger model roughly one year later, in 2026.

To keep costs to a minimum, it is understood that the two smaller Lincoln EV SUVs will adopt the platform currently being used by the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The new flagship EV SUV, which will be comparable to the Navigator, will consolidate the range in 2026. This model is expected to benefit from the F-150 Lightning's architecture.

By 2026, it is understood that Ford will see its premium Lincoln division transform into a brand thatfocuses on premium electric vehicles. This is similar to what we have seen with Cadillac, which is already getting to work on electrified products such as the Lyriq crossover and Celestiq sedan.
