The comedian adds another Porsche to his three-floor garage.
Aside from being a stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and producer, Jerry Seinfeld is a car enthusiast who owns a world-classPorsche collectionhoused in a three-floor garage. He is serious about his cars, so it's a no-brainer for the comedian to add theone-off Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe, which sold for $1.2 million.
Seinfeld officially took possession of the car during the Porsche Parade in Palm Springs, California, an event attended by members of thePorsche Club of America(PCA).
According to PCA, he drove the one-off Porsche from La Quinta Resort to Los Angeles - a good 125-mile first drive trip.
The 911 Classic Club Coupe was sold at an auction for the brand's 75th-anniversary celebration. A total of 75 rare Porsche vehicles were offered at the Broad Arrow auction house, including a 904 Carrera GTS from 1964, a 962 from 1984, and a 911 SC "Safari" Rally from 1980. However, Seinfeld's 911 Classic Club Coupe was the auction's headliner.
It took over two and a half years to restore the Classic Club Coupe from a usedPorsche 911 Carrera(Type 996) built in 1998. It was inspired by the 997-generation Porsche 911 Sport Classic (997), with models limited to 250 units and was not sold in the US.
Seinfeld's 911 Classic Club Coupe comes with a Sport Gray Metallic exterior paint and sits on a set of Fuchs-style alloy wheels. The car's exterior is given extra style points through the white and blue stripes on the hood, sides, and rear. It also has a double-dome roof, which is a nod to the Carrera GT supercar of the early 2000s, while the fixed rear spoiler is a homage to the 911 Carrera RS 2.7.
Inside, it gets a 996-based Pepita houndstooth upholstery and a modern infotainment system integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Under the hood lies a 3.6-liter engine from a second-generation 996 GT3 that delivers power up to 381 hp.
