Here's What's New For The 2024 Lexus IS Lineup

The compact sports sedan soldiers on for another year, but Lexus has made several trim revisions to keep it feeling fresh.

As the third-generationLexus ISenters its tenth year on the market, the Japanese automaker is applying several updates to keep the handsome IS (which stands for Intelligent Sports) looking and feeling fresh for 2024.

Starting with the IS 300 range, the RWD and AWD models are now available with the desirable F Sport Design trim. Buyers who opt for this will receive several styling upgrades, such as 19-inch F Sport wheels and model-specific badging.

F Sport models receive the same aesthetic enhancements, along with F Sport interior touches. This includes aluminum pedals, a heated F Sport steering wheel, and heated and ventilated front seats. Customers can only opt for the Grecian Water paint color on non-F-Sport models.

As a reminder, IS 300 RWD models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 241 horsepower, while the IS 300 AWD utilizes a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 260 hp.

The IS 350 variant receives a new Incognito exterior paint option for MY2024 and a Blackout Package ($3,425). This is only available on IS 350 F Sport models with the optional handling package ($1,160). The package brings Matte Black 19-inch BBS forged wheels to the party, darkened chrome exterior trim, black-painted side mirrors, and a memory package for the driver's seat.

IS 350 models gain motivation from a 3.5-liter V6 with 311 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Like the 300 range, the 350 uses a different gearbox depending on the driven wheels. RWD examples get an eight-speed automatic transmission, while AWD models have to settle for six forward gears.

Lastly, we have theIS 500. Equipped with a lusty V8 thatmakes a delightful noise, the performance sedan receives dark chrome exterior trim and black side mirrors for 2024. Like the 350, Incognito paintwork has been introduced as an optional extra.

Customers who want to stand out will be interested in the Special Appearance Package ($3,670). Offered exclusively on the Performance Premium trim, this package brings sporty Blue Vector paintwork and 19-inch BBS forged wheels, finished in Matte Black. The interior gains matching blue stitching on the seats, floor mats, and the key fob cover.

This model will be sold in very limited numbers, with just 150 units destined for the North American market. Expect the IS 500 F Sport Performance Premium Special Appearance package to reach dealers in the fall.

IS 500 models have a satisfying turn of speed thanks to the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 that lives under the hood. With 472 hp and 395 lb-ft channeled to the rear wheels via an eight-speed auto 'box, the Lexus can hit 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
