New for 2022, the Outback Wilderness is Subaru’s attempt to lure genuine off-road enthusiasts to the Outback. In order to do this, the Wilderness gets a raised suspension providing 9.5 inches of ground clearance. Additionally, smaller 17-inch alloy wheels stand a better chance at survival, while the Yokohama GEOLANDAR all-terrain tires help it scramble up and over obstacles. The X-MODE drive mode for the CVT has also been recalibrated to provide even more low-down torque. This model inherits StarTex water-repellent upholstery, but gets unique stitching and styling elements, while the exterior looks more rugged thanks to extra body cladding, unique hexagonal LED foglights, special decals, and exclusive access to Geyser Blue paint.
