The 2022 Hyundai Veloster N range comprises just one model, but you do get to choose what type of transmission you make use of. As standard, there's a six-speed manual, or you can spend 1,500 bucks on a slick eight-speed DCT. The 2.0-liter turbo-four under the hood produces 275 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, enough to get you to a top speed of 155 mph. Standard features include an Infinity sound system with eight speakers, a variable valved exhaust system, a shift indicator, LED projector headlights, electronically controlled suspension, a lap-timer, keyless entry with push-button ignition, and an onboard system that can perform diagnostic scans and provide maintenance reminders. You also get an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, and SiriusXM satellite radio, while standard safety addendums include blinds-pot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and lane-keep assist.
There aren't many ways to alter the feisty hatch, as it's pretty well equipped from the factory. But you can spec the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission instead of the standard six-speed manual, which will add $1,500 to the price of the Veloster N. Alternatively, you can get miscellaneous items like a cargo net for 55 bucks, a reversible cargo tray for $115, or an interior ambient lighting kit for $250.
