The best part of a convertible with a big V8 under the hood is that you can hear all those lovely noises so much easier, even with the roof in place. That being said, the video shows that the car is remarkably well insulated from wind and tire noise, even at 174 mph.

年代peaking of performance, that speed is made possible by the LC's 5.0-liter V8 that produces 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque, all of which goes to the rear wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. That roof is automatic too, taking around 15 seconds to open or close.

We'd love to see how the LC 500 sounds at full tilt with the roof down, and with the car offering Lexus Climate Concierge with seat heating, neck warmers, and a heated steering wheel, there's no excuse not to have the top down unless it's raining.

With its futuristic looks and almost old-school powertrain, the LC 500 is in a class of its own. Sure, it's not the sharpest drop-top sports car out there, nor the fastest, but when a car looks and sounds as good as this one, we can't help but think of how badly we'll miss it when it's gone.
