Volkswagen ID.X Performance Concept Revealed As Souped-Up ID.7 With 550 Horsepower

Volkswagen's on full throttle with its ID. series, but thankfully, its desire to offer sporty performance amid electrification is very much alive. Its latest concept, the ID.X Performance, features compelling upgrades that are show and go, presented at the ID. Treffen show in Switzerland.

The ID.X Performance has 20-inch sports alloy wheels wrapped in 265mm racing tires. Red accents are also found around the vehicle's new aero kits, providing a sportier appeal similar toNismo-based Nissan cars.

The red motif carries over into the interior, as seen on the steering wheel, dashboard, door panels, and seats. A diagonal 6.7-inch screen is installed below the infotainment screen, which controls the Vehicle Dynamics Manager for adjusting drive torque and the rear differential lock.

With the additional asynchronous motor on the front axle, the ID.X Performance has an all-wheel-drive (AWD) layout capable of 550 horsepower and a boost function. Like the standard ID.7, the concept has a fast charging capacity of up to 200 kW.
