Stepping inside any modern Bentley vehicle is a lesson in excess. In the pursuit of creating the most luxurious environment possible, the British carmaker adorns its cabins with lashings of leather and wood. But Bentley wants to become a more eco-conscious company in the next few years and has committed to having anall-electric lineup by 2030. As part of this commitment, Bentley will offer new, more sustainable materials in its cabins.

Bentley Mulliner, the company's bespoke division, will now offer four different tweed trims for the doors. This option is available across the model lineup, including the2021年宾利大陆GT, the facelifted2021 Bentley Bentayga, and the Flying Spur.

The introduction of tweed to the Mulliner Personal Commissioning Guide matches Bentley's Beyond100 strategy, which has already added atweed roof option. Bentley says the tactile woven wool finish transforms the cabin's energy, complementing one of the many available leather colors.

The four tweed options are as follows: Cheltenham uses traditional countryside green colors; Glen Plaid-Tolsta Beach includes a bold check pattern; Charcoal complements a dark interior; and Sand Herringbone pairs well with a lighter interior. All of the tweeds are sourced from Lovat Mill, located in the Scottish town of Hawick. Lovat Mill operates a dry production facility, meaning there is no adverse impact on the local natural environment.

This is not the first time Bentley has incorporated tweed into an interior. The material was also used on the 'Sportsman' Bentayga and theContinental GT Equestrian Edition. It was also used on the Bacalar, which had tweed throughout the interior (including the seats) and the bespoke luggage set.

Now that tweed has been added to the Commissioning guide, Mulliner can add it to customer cars with a shorter lead time. Mulliner's guide now includes more than 70 options to choose from, creating a nearly endless level of customization.
